JEWELLERY: THE ART OF ENAMELLING: GLASS FUSED TO METAL

In this introductory class three groups of techniques of enamelling shall be covered, dry application & painting, Champlevé and Cloisonné. During the Champlevé portion of the course, several etching techniques from PMP to sugar lift are taught. While doing the cloisonné, additional decorative applications of foils, glass rods & millefiori can be applied to your pieces. Build on your previous enamelling experience with a further exploration of more advanced styles of enamelling. The course will continue with Cloisonne & its variations. Cover enamelling on curved & vertical surfaces. Include the opportunity to learn the basics of Pilque ajour along with more Champleve. Lots of class time will be available to pursue the enamelling project of your dreams. Cost of silver & fine gold materials will be extra. Class limit: 10.
