Catherine has been a full time enamelist for 25 years and a teacher for over 10. Her work is exhibited all over the USA and Canada. She has been teaching at various venues including the “Celtic College” in Goderich, ON; Irish Fest Summer School in Milwaukee, WI; Dublin Irish Festival in Ohio; Celtic Women International Conferences in Wisconsin; Catskill Irish Arts Week in East Durham, NY and Augusta Heritage College in Elkins, WV. For the last three years, she has been teaching Enamelling at both the beginner and advanced levels through George Brown’s prestigious Jewellery Program. Like many enamelists, she is largely self-taught but has taken workshops with the late Alan Perkins, and Master Enamelist Fay Rooke.

She has a broad understanding of most enamelling techniques, and is a sensitive and knowledgeable teacher. Her love of the medium is infectious, and she is able to communicate the intricacies of enamel theory in a simple and direct way. She believes in allowing her students to experiment with their own methods and designs while making sure that the basic principles and practices are thoroughly understood.
