The marble is being considered as a logo for the Integral Aging Institute... New rules for playing marbles are devised all the time, and each group is likely to have its own version, often customized to the environment. While the game of marbles was once ubiquitous and attracted widespread press to national tournaments, its popularity has dwindled in the television age.* The particular spiral design marble shown below, has been called Lutz (a type of swirl, taken from a figure-skating jump) or Onionskin (swirled and layered like an onion). The label of Lutz brings to mind the precision, practice, and persistence that is required to execute this figure-skating move and in making any career transition. The label of Onionskin brings to mind the unpeeling of layers of an onion or the layers of our self-knowledge and sharing our essential strengths with others.
