Create a Personal Lifework Portfolio
Insert the following four or five sectional dividers into a 3-ring binder with a clear plastic sleeve in the front cover:
- Assessment (Who am I?)
- Exploration (Where is life taking me? What field research do I need to do?)
- Goals/Intentions (Where am I going? What is life suggesting?)
- Action Steps (How shall I get there? What steps will I take and timeline?)
- Sources of Support (What are my internal & external sources of support?)
Throughout your career, you will add to the binder artifacts that document your achievements in each of the above areas. It would be helpful to add sub-dividers, as needed to easily access material within each section.
This binder will become your Personal Lifework Portfolio, which you can add to from time to time. You might add addition sections, such as resumes, bios, awards, certificates, and contact lists. If it becomes too cumbersome, consider creating a Personal Lifework Portfolio on your computer.
You might take sections of your Personal Lifework Portfolio to show potential employers, as appropriate.
