  • Decade of teaching Photography in two different high school smaller learning community environments: a Visual Arts Magnet and a Humanitas Academy, both emphasizing collaborative, inter-disciplinary, student-centered methods.
  • Launched & taught Photography (both Film-based and Digital), Animation and Video classes
    • Launched & taught Literary Arts Magazine classes, collaborating with Bell English Teacher, Self-Help Graphics  & UCLA Hammer Museum
    • Launched & taught AP Art History and AP Studio Art classes, designing AP curricula specific to the media of Photography and Design

    • Managed & designed construction of new, state-of-the-art Digital Photography & Video classroom from development to grant writing, budget planning (more than $200,000), design, and implementation, down to old darkroom demolition, reconstruction, re-wiring, and networking. New classroom lab includes 44 new Mac computer stations, scanners and printers, lighting studio, and work table/ matting area.
    • Helped design Photography labs for new LAUSD schools, working with architect-in-charge of photo lab design
      • Designed literacy-based curricula, emphasizing concept & research, for Photography, AP Design, Video, Animation & Digital Storytelling.
      • Collaborated with the City of Bell and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA-LA) to create a student photo exhibit in the city’s nearby Community Center
      • Coordinated first intra-school juried photo exhibit, judged by Art Center College of Design photo teachers and curator from Getty Art Museum
