The following are suggestions. Not written in stone, but a guide to help aspiring artists plan their high school art careers. Remember, you should plan to have your art portfolio ready by the end of your FIRST semester, senior year.
 
3D Art Majors
(Sculptors, potters, jewelers, also has applications to 3D computer modeling)
 
Freshman Year
3D Foundations
2D Foundations (Drawing feeds everything)
 
Sophomore Year
At least 2 of the following.
Intermediate Ceramics, Sculpture, or Metals
 
Junior Year
Advanced 3D Art
This class incorporates Advanced Ceramics, Sculpture, or Metals. Focus is up to the student.
 
Senior Year
Advanced 2D Art
For seniors, the first semester of this class will be a portfolio preparation class. Focus for the second semester is decided by the student.
 
This will give you 4 credits in art. (8 semesters of classes.) Of course, we encourage you to take as many as you can get away with. The current records belong to Ryan Walters and Derrick Tarrance with 14 classes each.
